About Ashlyn
Growing up, I was always the kid with the overactive imagination, making up detailed stories in my head whenever I got the chance. I was around ten the first time I put pen to paper, and from that point on I never stopped. Like most writers, my style and technique has improved since then, but the fundamental love of piecing together the story I want to tell has remained just as strong and intuitive as always.
For most of my life, writing and helping my friends with their stories always seemed like more of a passion project then something I could make a career out of. So, in college, I focused on my other love and received my degree in wildlife biology, while minoring in English.
In 2022, my entire world shifted around me, and I wasn't sure where I wanted to go next. Naturally, I turned to my love of writing and reading; for the first time, I realized I could do something real with it.
So, I decided to go for it, and that's how we got here!
My writing
I've always been a sucker for books with a happy-ever-after, so that's what I tend to write! Like most authors, I draw a lot of inspiration from the things in my life and tend to write stories that feel real to me. My characters have real, relatable issues (mental health issues, being stereotyped, confidence issues, etc) and I try to write them in a way where they feel authentic to the readers, like they could easily be someone they know.
I'm currently working on my debut novel (releasing early 2024) which is a second-chance romance featuring a plus-size female lead who gets the sexy Olympic swimmer. It'll be the first in a standalone trilogy following a group of friends as they chase, achieve, and sometimes move on from their craziest dreams.
